the software we use for matrix attempts to logs ip addresses, we prevent this however - this is the same for all homeservers (but they might not prevent it)

you should route your client with torsocks (or for element, install a tor daemon & do --proxy-server=socks5://127.0.0.1:9050)

we anonymize ip addresses, we can't just fully remove ip addresses due to rate limiting from the software, so we make it to be only the first 4 bytes of the md5 hashed ip using openresty

we avoid the huge man in the middle attack called cloudflare also btw!
